Default Questions about the Superchips Tuner

I just ordered a tuner for my 05' Magnum R/T and had a few questions on the operation of it. Do you need to know alot about cars in order to make correct setting adjustments? How do you know what settings to select? Does the manual coming with the tuner give you a description of what will happen for each of the different settings? I just wanted to get a little familiar with this item before I receive it. I welcome all feedback and comments about this. I don't know much about these tuners, so please educate me!!

Thanks

when you plug it in ..undernreath the dash ..the manual and the tuner will walk you thru it ....but before you get it..... start putting 91 or 93 octane gas ..in it..cause the performance setting..calls for high octane gas only.......and the biggest diff in power i noticed ...was raising the shift points in the trans settings ..really lets the engine scream and still pulls hard ..it will take a few days before u start to feel the diff...cuz the computers gotta learn ...but ull feel it

Thanks for the feedback. It should be shipping out to me today so hopefully by the end of this week I'll be able to play around with it. I just wanted to make sure it was a cut and dry setup, and it sure sounds like it. Thanks!

Default RE: Questions about the Superchips Tuner

Hey Dirty Mag,

A few things real quick. I just got my tuner today and tried tuning my magnum. For some reason It will only allow me to change the Octane to 91 and the speed limiter. I keep getting an error when I try to adjust everything else(Error Code T-6E). I read on another forum that my car needs a Tranny Comp update from the dealer.Im working out the problem with Superchips but I wanted to let you know that because I didn't notice much of a difference with just the performance setting. I only drove it once with the settings in place so I was thinking about what you said and maybe I have to wait? you said the computerneedstime to adjust? How long should it take? and do you think its stupid to keep the Tuner if I will never be allowed to change the Trans settings?
