Default RKE Battery Low

I got an error on the Computer read-out this weekend, but it seems to have went away. At least for now... Does anyone know what the RKE Battery is? Is it the Main Battery for the Car, or some Computer related battery? Just wondering what to replace before it is too late. Any input would be appreciated!

My first guess is Remote Keyless Entry... the battery in the key.

I just started getting this system warning also, "RKE Battery Low". So taking a wild guess, I replaced the battery in my key. Well, nice try, I guess, but that wasn't it. I called the dealer and they said, of course, "You have to bring it in so we can diagnose it." I'm thinking, wait a minute, didn't this thing just diagnose itself? Anyway, if it is not the battery in the key, what is it?

Do you have the factory car starter? If you do, according to DMX when you start the vehical using the command start you will get a message in system warnings on the EVIC saying "RKE Battery Low" Mine has done this since day one.

Nice you tried the battery... I guess

Don't know what else it would be besides the battery. Could the battery you replaced it with possibly be bad? Not every battery on the shelf at the store is good.

There is an issue with the solder connections inside the key fob. I just re-soldered one side of the connectors to correct. If you have dropped your keys or have a 'early build' (mine is 06/04), then you might have the solder connection issue.

I'm thinking now it is the key itself, because if I use my wifes key, the message goes away. Since the battery is fresh, maybe I have the solder problem metioned above. Thanks for the input.

I had the same RKE Battery Low message.
Just yesterday the key would not lock the car.
Opened up the key to see what battery is needed to replace and I had the solder issue with the battery clamp.

Re-soldered and all is now working fine
