How about the fact that the battery is in the back, the kit only comes with wiring for the battery in the front, so we would have to make up extra long wiring to reach the battery.
Is there any way to relocate the battery to the front, so that the resistance would be less?
There are numerous taps for +12V. Namley the one on the fuse panel. Its primary purpose is for jump starting. I'm sure inserting a spade lug here would be fine.

I see two types of aftermarket HID retrofits. One has the original headlight connector POWERING the ignitor and the regulator. The other has a relay going to the original harness and the main voltage is supplied by the battery/AUX system. I can clearly see the advantage of the relay system. If you were to try to power this with the OEM harness it might work for a few times or a hundred but in the end you will have massive electrical "gremlins" The system is not set up for the current draw on start-up. A large capacitor in-line would help. However it would need to be about the size of a coffee can. Some other things to consider. This is a high voltage system and the wires have to be carefully routed and secured or arcs are possible.
This would not work for daytime running lights.
People with the autolight feature upgrade would have to go back. Scenereo, light turn on when the key is in ignition and you start to turn key. Lights turn on then flicker when the amperage is diverted or consumed by the starter, fuel system and whatever else. The voltage drops to the headlamp harness and the HIDs flicker. Very tough on a vaper/salt light.
The part that bothers me the most is about the new beam pattern a fixture will output with 300% more source. In otherwords the left light is opticaly optimised for the hallogen beam pattern. When you add more light is the light going to spread 300% more to the left? You cannot diregard safty for other motorists for the benefits it might bring us. I have driven cars with HID and it is easier on the eyes on long drives. I love them.

In order to stay low on the radar I would opt for the 4300K to 5000K range it is less likely to draw attention.

I dont mind being the guinea pig. I'm sure I can sell it here or ebay if it's not what I want.

PS umnitza: K is a measure of color you are correct, as you go up in color you actually loose visible white light not actual power. In essence the closer to green spectrum the brighter it will apear to human eyes.
I like this concept but it lacks relays
Helios

I like this but look how short the cables are. I hate chop and lengthing.

I have used http://www.proxenon.com/ 2 seperate times. I would use them again in a heart beat. Very happy. The length from the ballast to the ingintor on these units are 8" i think.

do NOT use HID4LESS. they will rip you off. There websight is long gone..but the shady company could still lurking around.

If anyone has a picture of their MAGNUM with HID's installed that'd be GREAT to see! Maybe like a night view of the headlights and then a shot from inside or towards the street to see how they light up

I have tried several times on my other cars. But the camera's Iris closes so much all you see is 2 white specks.

The best decription i could give for HID is lookoutside. See the daylight? good. now you have an idea.

Thanks for the referral. I'm sorry but I'm kind of a nut for details look here
Helios
then here
Proxenon

One or the other is stealing their content or its the same device in different badge either way something smells funny. I'm still weary of plugging it in with the existing wiring harness without a relay. Or let me say I wont but putting in HID unless it has a relay. I'm too intimate with electronics to know better. Let me say I'm impressed with the overall fit and estectic design of the two systems but ease of installation gave way for robust and trustworthy design. I wouldn't want these failing at RT speeds. OK off my soapbox. I wish there were more options. I wish DC offered it for the magnums and a true DOT approved retrofit would be had. Think about it if the sold it for up to $800.00 I would jump. I shouldn't cost them more than $200.00 to make. Make it a dealer option, make it a dealer option, make it a dealer option. I'm going to get some legal ultrabrights in the meantime.

Just be leary about your HID system. I read on the import forums that somewhere in the NE section of the U.S., problaby around the NY, Pennsylvannia, and places around there, thefts are on the rise on HID systems!!! I saw several pics from users that posted their vehicles with their HID systems ripped off the car. It looked horrible! Looked like someone just ripped your eyes out!

Thankfully I have never herd such a thing here in the southwest.

Here are some links of the HID stolen topic from www.automotiveforums.com

Unfortunately I cannot find those pictures of their vehicles with the lights stolen out of them. Some of the vehicles, they butchered the front end so bad, it almost looked like you had a front end collosion! realy sad!
