Default Question about the 440ci

OK a friend of mine has a 70 charger with a 440 bb that we're rebuilding, the question we have is that he has a edelbrock torker intake on it and it doesnt cover the exhaust crossover. Can this be exposed or is there a special block off plate, that we mysteriously cant find, that needs to block it off. Any help would be appreciated thanks

You should not block it, I have a torker II and tried to modify mine to block it and ended up popping the valley pan because of the heat traped in it!

chfjim is right..a friedn of mine runs a heavily built "440", running low 10s, and it built so much heat that it melted, and swelled up the lifter valley cover. they fixed the problem before it did any real damage.

This is the first that I've heard of problems from blocking it off. I haven't tried it myself though.
