81 Mirada CMX Restoration
Oh Ultimately I have no issues with having the pieces custom made... When I have the money to do it.
But I would need to know who could do it, where they are, and roughly how much. I'm terrible at finding car information. Hence I joined the forum here so I coudl pick up info as I read. ^_^

This is my first post here, so apologies if this issue has already been resolved somewhere. I just picked up a 1980 Mirada a couple months ago which has the crumbling fender extensions, too, and found these on eBay:
1979-1984 Chrysler Cordoba - Dodge Mirada Both Rear Fillers.
Ignore the years; the seller obviously doesn't know these model years are different cars, entirely, and only lasted until 1983, but if you look at the picture upside-down, it's clear that these are the correct fender extensions for the 80-83 Mirada.
Also, VFN Fiberglass offers a complete rear assembly, fender-to-fender and including the bumper, in fiberglass; it's intended for racing applications, obviously, but it might be possible to brace and mount it to the stock body, and mount the rear lamp assemblies. One of the folks over at MoparStyle was going to try it, and let us know if it worked

wow..those VFN units look nice. id like to talk to someone who has gotten one, to see how the quality and fitment was...also..did you see a pirce per unit on there? it said 250 for the whole kit...right? but i already have a fiberglass hood and trunk lid.
what's up badstratrt .I just had to respond to your post I also had a 80 mirada that i swaped a 340 with 727 trans into it .they after two years i removed the 340 and trans and swaped a 383 ci out of a 70 road runner with the 727 and 83/4 rear end into it and to my surprise it was fairly easy just by using engine mounts from a 73 fury that had a 400ci .but i reqret selling it because i could not get it smoged in california.
Hi there..New to this.
Just wanted to add that I have a 1980 Dodge Mirada that I bought in 1984.I bought alot of new parts from the dealer for my car and I have a complete NEW set of rear fender extensions that I would be willing to get repops made off them if someone knows where.I put a 383 in the catr and a 8 3/4 and a cage.it is pretty fast.I need a fiberglass hood and a good nose cone if anyone knows where.
Thanks

The crumbling rear pieces problem on my Mirada was solved by trimming the sides even with the body line and I left about a 1" ledge on the top of the rear piece then removed the bumper crash absorbers / bumper brackets and made new brackets to mount the bumper closer to the body filling the space where the plastic parts were and taking a few extra pounds off.
