68 charger hp
In 68 I think they had 2 383's 1 has 335hp and I'm not sure about the other one. I know my 68 Satellite has the 335hp motor and the 68 coronet had one too. I think they're the same in Chargers.
There is the 383 Magnum which is 335 horsepower, the 383 4bbl non-Magnum which is 330 horsepower (it's sometimes listed as a Magnum as well, but they are listed seperately) and the 383 2bbl which I believe was around 290 horsepower.
Sorry about the delayed response, I tried to reply, but the site automatically logged me out when I hit the OK button to respond with my post which erased everything and I didn't have time to rewrite it all again at that time.
There is a flat angled pad on the engine block in front of the passenger side head just below the distributor. There are two or three rows of code depending on the engine. The top row is a letter which is the year code followed by the engine size, in your case 383. The second row is the build date and if there is a third row it contains special info such as crank, bearing sizes if not stock, version, etc. If yours is a 4bbl it should have HP or HP2 in the third row.
Here is a picture showing the pads location (yours is the B location and not the RB):
