Default 1995 Dodge Neon Incorect speed reading

Hello,

I’ve had my car for about 1.5months now and was playing with my GPS the other day and noticed that when my speedometer said I was 60 km my GPS was reading 53 or 54.

We have a speed counter on our road here and it said the same thing that really alerted me. I looked at the car and noticed that it had the wrong sized tires on it (P175/70 13)my dad suggested that I get the correct size tires that should fix the issue so I bought 4 new tires (P165/80 13) that is what it says to get on the door.

Still when I am driving it is reading 54 or 55 it only changed minimal.

Can this issue be resolved? What can I do to resolve this?

Any help would be appreciated

Thanks JungleFishy

I assuming by the tire size you have a 95 neon....am I correct?
