Did you change your plug wires and coil pack? If not, you might try that. Get the MSD coild pack & MSD wires off Modern Performance for a good stock replacement.

Are you gettingany check engine lights?

The Neons are known for the ignition coil going bad at around that mileage. If it is the coil, you can get an MSD replacement coil at Jegs for $70. As long as you do not have a pacemaker(you may get zapped by the spark, I've been zapped once or twice, no biggie) you can disconnect one plug wire at a time, while the car is running, to see if you are getting any spark out of the coil and to the plugs. Even if you are getting spark, it may be to weak to cause combustion(not making it through the wire). For $40 you can get the MSD Super Conductor wires which are so much better than stock it's like the difference between a tri-cycle and a formula 1 car.

great info, so if I understand you right I would run car and take one wire off to see if their is any change in performance idleing. then the next and so on until I checked them all if their is no change then its probably a wire or the bad coil. I've done that with my ford truck and it worked good.
