i just replaced my alternator with a new alternator and it is still not charging. what could the problem be?

Being old school, I would have the alternator checked, not knowing what automotive stores you have near you but a lot of the big chain stores (Kragen/Schucks, Autozone etc) will check your alternator and check your charging system. You could have a bad ground, maybe a fuse popped, not sure, go with the basics first.
