If done right the fart cans can sound good. A friend of mine has a Greddy exhaust w/fart can, header and hollow cat on his Eclipse and it sounds really nice, not like most.

I have a fart can on my 94 altima and it sounds great. I also have the cat removed and a 18" glasspack then the can. I get a lot of compliments unfortunatly its gotta go its just to loud. My next is exhaust is going to be even better 2 1/2" mandrel bent with a catco high flow cat 18" glasspack and a borla muffler and tip.

it's good to see that you didn'tt have to change out the bumper facia. that was my big concern. that looks way better than the limp noodle muffler tip these things come stock with. i like it.[sm=smiley20.gif]
LOL, yeah, I hated that piece of trash.

Default Exhaust (now with sounds)

Here are some sound clips I took when we were installing the exhaust, finally converted them into something you can play. Right click and save (they are about 1-2mb each).

Stock Everything

Stock Piping, No Muffler

2.5 Inch Piping, Magnaflow Muffler

Another note, these are just of the car sitting there revving. It sounds quite different under load, but you get the idea.

Thanks. It does sound much meaner and less raspy when you're driving around. I need to get some sound of it hammering it. Just need someone to hold my digicam.
