Headlight Mounting Bolt Problem
FYI I own a 2003 Neon.
I had to remove the left headlight to change a burned out signal light bulb. There are 2 long bolts that hold it in place, and one of them was seized and broke.
It took me over an hour to cut the bolt with a hacksaw blade, remove the headlight, and use 2 vise-grips to remove the seized portion of the bolt.
When I went to the Dealer to order a new bolt ($2.99CAD), they said it happens all the time in a number of their vehicles. I was advised to remove all 4 bolts (from both headlights), and apply anti-seize compound to the threads, and re-install them.
Otherwise, the same thing will happen again when I have to change a burned out bulb.
This is sure a crappy design flaw. Should have used plastic bolts.
