Dodge NeonThe sport compact car that took the world by storm. the Dodge Neon. Depending on the trim level you get, this sporty ride has something to offer everyone.
The rear passenger brake on my 95 neon is stuck on and I can smell the shoes burning up if I try to drive it. I have disconnected the parking brake, replaced the wheel cylinder, and bleed the brake a couple of times but cannot get the brake to relieve pressure on its own. I can relieve the pressure by using a c-clamp on the wheel cylinder, so it can go back it just won't. I am getting a little annoyed and wonder if adjusting these brakes would help or if there is a way to disconnect the brake temporaily so I can at least drive the car. Thanks for any suggestions?
It sounds like the auto adjuster has over adjusted the brakes. Try backing off the adjuster screw assembly a few turns. Make sure the adjuster is clean and properly lubricated.
