I went to go start my 2001 neon today and it started then quit after a few seconeds. i tried it again and it wouldnt start. The oil light came on and blinked, the oil is fine though. Anybody have any ideas on what it might be?

I am not sure if the 2001's have this feature, the 04' I know do and 03's too. but The key has one of them code things and if you don't have the right key it won't start or if you go get one made at the key shop it won't work, try your spare key and see what happen.

 

that, or check the battery.

 

Today i tried the battery still the same problem. The keys for 2001's are normal and dont have any chips in them. I'm guessing it could be the oil sensor?

 

well i figured it out, who would've thought all i had to do was reset the computer by turninh the key on off on off on, but what would have threw a code? well it works now, i'll see what happens with it.
