Default hot rod choices?

Okay I now im going to get crap for this but im going to post it anyways. I have the perfect tuner. A '99 neon but now my hot rod roots are coming back and i was wondering if you could help me with my choices. I have 3 and only 3. They are a '67 mustang fastback, a '69 camaro, or a '70 cutlass. I know they are not mopar in anyway but i like the way these look. Tell me which one yall think is the best. Thanx

Default RE: hot rod choices?

In addition to my sig, you should know my brother has a 70 Challenger SE, my father an origianl owner '68 SuperBee he's restoring (but putting in his '66 Hemi instead of the original 383) a '61 Lancer Wagon with 318 he races for fun and myriad others owned.

Having said that, of your choices I would narrow it down to the mustang or the camaro. Why? They're both coming (or have already come out for '05) back into circulation soon in a sort of "retro" look and it would be kinda cool to own "the original" look. I'm not big on the Cutlass, and I'm less big on the '67 Mustang than I am the '69 Camaro. (But I prefer more rounded '67-'68 camaro).

If it were me starting all over again, I think I'd be looking at a VERY early Dart and put in a 360 stroked to 402. (Mopar's version of a 4 X 4 ---doesn't relate to how many wheels are driven). This would be fairly unique (ugly) and potentially a lot of fun if you rebuilt the front suspension for a little more modern handling too.

If you're really going to do a "street rod" there's a lot of oldies body/chassis kits. Might be less effort to assemble from scratch than trying to restore a muscle/pony car if you're thinking of that route.

Lastly, if you're open minded enough that Factory Five Racing kit Cobra is a bargain for about 12,000 to 16,000 with options and a donor late '80's mustang for a few hundred dollars. This is probably the car I will be building in a couple years from now because the Mrs. has always wanted a Cobra.
