1998 dodge neon oil in coolant
Hey. I have a 1998 dodge neon. A month or two ago I had the head gasket replaced because there was oil in my coolant. Now there is still oil in my coolant. Could this be related to anything else other than a leaky head gasket? I had the oil changed a couple weeks ago, and the oil is full. This is probably a minor leak, but the coolant is pretty dark. I don't know much about cars so any help at all would be great. Thanks.
Besides a cracked head or block, there is no other reasonable way that oil could get in your coolant besides through the head gasket (unless you pour it in the radiator on purpose obviously). A few questions:
1. Is there coolant in your crankcase?
2. How fast is the oil level dropping in your crankcase?
3. Do you have water, steam, or white exhaust coming out of your tailpipe?
4. Is the coolant level in your radiator and reservoir risingas days go by or staying level?
5. Is your trans an ATX? If so, what does the fluid look like and what's the level like?

Was the rad flushed really really good before coolant was put into it. I had to do the same thing when my 2.0 was still in the car and i had to flush my rad four times in a month to get the oil out.Because oil clings to metal when it the metal is cold. and when the metal and oil are heated back up it is easier for the coolant to wash it free. I can not think of the product i used but there are some out there that will flush the rad quiet well but it my take a few times to get it all out, like i said i had to do it four times in a month to get it all out
