Default Acceleration

I have an 02 SXT Neon and ever since I've driven my g/f 2000 neon I've noticed my acceleration isn't as great. Is there anyone that can help me out with how to maybe make the acceleration better?

When u say it's not running as great as it use to, I'd assume that u should make sure the air filter is clean, u have good spark plugs and wires, put fuel cleaner in the tank.

i just had a tune-up so i know the spark plugs and wires are ok. I havn't changed the air filter in about a year, and what kind of fuel cleaner do you recommend?

Also I heard about this computer chip that can enhance your acceleration?

i have done a lot to my neonto get more acceleration like (MSD COIL PACK) which i felt a big diff in plus the stock coil pack goes bad, nology hotwires work realy good, ngk spark plugs, a bigger throttle body i have a 55mm, k&n induction kit, indy intake manifold with race ported, a complet exhaust system which is PaceSetter Headers high flow cat but if you have a 95 neon you can gut the cat and get more power and a PaceSettercatback muffler which is all connected togetherusing 3in piping from headers all the way back, if you have a stick get a lite weight flywheel if auto get a automatic vale body for the tranny, unorthodox racing underdrive crank pulley all of these are bolt ons with out have to go into the motor going into the motor will give you even more power but it will cost you a lot more money and time

Wow talk about a lot of misinformation...

First off, a new coilpack, wires, and plugs will give you ZERO performance gain, the most you will get out of them is a smoother idle and a better start, and they look nicer. The TB and CAI will give you some gains, but not much in the big picture, basically they are supporting mods for much more involved modifications.

PaceSetter is total **** when it comes to parts, they are the cheap alternative and you pay for it in the long run. A short tube header will give you very minimal gains over stock, the only way you'll see gains from a new header is if you go with a long tube header. A full catback system in 3" piping on a N/A 2nd Gen will only HURT performance ten fold, it will not give you anything close to a power gain...the most you would ever need N/A is 2.5"...and even then only with heavy modifications.

A INDY intake manifold is only really beneficial with a Magnum cylinder head (at the very least), LTH, and an agressive cam, not to mention the work it takes to make it fit on a 2nd Gen. If you want a great intake manifold, find a used Magnum intake manifold off any 01-04 R/T-ACR.

I think that about covers it...

I agree with all of that for the most part. The only exception would be the coil pack, which in my case I can over-gap my plugs and still get a reliable spark out of it, but I built mine in the factory for that reason so it's not like everyone (or anyone at this point) can just rush out and get one.

I agree about the exhaust... the stock tubing on a low-mod'ed N/A Neon is fine, although I would consider replacing the muffler with something higher-flow. I nice K&N filter, oversized with a lot of surface area will also help somewhat. You could also free up a couple of parasitic hp by getting an aluminum underdrive pulley, but that can start to add up if you have to take it to a shop to have it swapped. As far as relatively inexpensive "performance" mods, the buck stops there in my opinion.
