Fuel Issue?
I have a 96 Neon SOHC Automatic Transmission. Lately, when it gets hot outside (it gets to 100+ here), my car has some trouble starting (when it is cooler outside it has no problems starting up or shutting off). If you give it some gas while starting, it will start, but if you dont it tries to start .. putters for a bit and then dies. Also, every now and then, if you have been driving around for a while (the AC is on while driving), when you turn the car off the engine keeps running for about an extra minute while it putters and shakes the car until it eventually dies. The check engine light is not on during normal operation of the car.
I recently did some work on the car (spark plugs, spark plug wires, oil change, new air filter, auto shutdown relay swap), but this problem started about a week before i did the maintenance on it. Does anybody have any ideas as to what the problem could be? Is this a fuel issue or something else?
Any suggestions are appreciated. Thanks!
