1997 Neon Problem Dont Know What?!?!
I have a problem on a 1997 Neon DOHC when i start it it will run for like 5 sec. then the rpm's will go way past 1000 and it will die! also when i am driving and let off the gas and put the clutch in it will do it! so if any1 can help me that would be great! [sm=feedback.gif]
that's what i was going to suggest, mine did similar, it never over revved like that, but it would die with clutch in at lights, etc.
about $100 from dodge for the egr (don't go with a non dealership, u need to replace the transducer at the same time) and an hour or so to put it in
i did it by taking off the air intake tube (i don't have a CAI, you don't need to worry about this with an iceman or a kirk, but any intake tube that goes kind of to the back of the engine should prolly be pulled off), and pulling the battery and fuse box. the fuse box has 2 little spring clip things that you'll have to press in the tabs and then just lift up while pressing the tabs. after that, you'll need i think it's a 10mm and an extension or 2 (i ended up using my medium or super long extension)
it gets pretty tight in there, but it's REALLY easy to do if you have just a hair of patience
