okay for the 2nd gen owners, have u ever looked at the "bttery blanket," Does anyone have any idea what the wire that is hooked into it is?? Looks like a sensor but whats it for?

I haven't seen it, but from the minimal description sounds like maybe it is for one of them battery warmers for all yu out there in hella cold areas.

Ah yes...I know what you're talking about. And that what tech said would be my guess as well. I took my battery out and saw that...wasn't exactly sure either.

when you look at it though it doesn't seem like it would be for any sort of heating element, it truly looks like a sensor plug, if it ever stops raining, I'll take a picture of it

On the bottom of the battery box the battery tempature sensor. I don't really know the point of it, but thats what it is.

It is probably part of the cold weather package. Do you have a block heater that you can plug into the house.
As the factory cold weather kit will allow you to plug you car in and preheat the coolant to allow your car to warm up faster and also has a battery blanket that will warm you battery to allow it to maintain maximum cranking ability. Nice if left outside during the winter! Not very expensive kit. Seen listed for like $35 buck plus install.

as far as i know i have no such package, but it did come with a battery blanket, standard i guess
