Clutch quesion
I was out driving around last night and I steped on the clutch to shift and I felt a pop in the petal, then the car came out of gear, and would not go back in. I have no clutch, I can run the car through the gears without pushing on the clutch. I am pretty sure that I blew the clutch, but I can't understand what would have broke for it to do that. The petal is still a little springy, but it is a lot easier to push. Could it possibly be a cable, please, please? If anybody has any ideas before I start taking the transmisssion out, I have not had a chance to check the cable to make sure its good, the weather was horible today.
Casper,
Check the cable connection under the battery. you should be able to see where the cable connects with the clutch fork braket. if the cable end is loose in the bracket, you broke the cable.
But if it is tight, you probably broke a pressure plate finger off.....
Hope for good news.
