Default Energy Suspension Engine Mounts

I was looking into installing the Energy Suspension Front Motor Mount Insert in my 1998 SOHC Neon. Is it alright to do this if it is an automatic transmission? How hard is it to install? Thanks for the input.

Basiclly all you do is jack up the front end, put it on jack stands, find a safe place to jack up the motor a little, and take out the front motor mount. Put in the inserts, put the mount back in and lower the car.

Do the mounts transmit that much vibration to the cabin, and are the vibrations strong enough to lossen things like bolts and stuff? Has anyone put the inserts on a car with an automatic transmission before? THanks for the install tips RT_Driver.

If they are anything like mine, yes they will transfer vibrations into the cabin. When I start in gear or start the car you can feel the vibrations. It also seems to be slightly louder than before as well. If you can stand the vibration then its well worth your money and time. Install is easy, just like rt_driver said.

And it should be alright to do this for an automatic transmission?

Not a problem. The front motor mount is the same regardless of MTX or ATX.

I would also STRONGLY recomend you replace the cheesy plastic zip ties that Energy includes with Stainless Nuts and Bolts 8-32 x 2 1/2" work well
