water pump??
What's up fellas? My neighbor has a 1996 Dodge Neon SOHC, recently the water pump has started to leak and I have offered to do the installation for her. My question is how difficult is it to do a water pump on a neon(I have auto mechanical skills) and lastly any pointers? Thanks in advance. Gus
It is a lot of work, the whole cover has to come off of the side odf the motor, along with the belts and the crankshaft pully.
The pump is driven by the timing belt, have you ever done one of those before,
It's a lot of work, and you need to make sure that the timing marks are perfect or you could damage the valves.
If you have never done one before, take it to a shop...

It's an easy job, but also easy to screw up. Not to mention the time. Anywhere from 5-18 hours depending on what the car has i.e. A/C, P/S, ABS. Also, without the proper tools, mechanical parts can be easily damaged.
