Default Correct fluid for a MTX

What is the correct fluid type to use for a Manual trans? My book says Mopar MTX fluid or equivilent. I don't really wan to goto the dealer to get the fluid. Does anyone know what the equivilent is???

Actually Chrysler is now recommending ATX fluid in the MYTXs as well. But check with your local dealer first and see what they say.

Actually, its ATF +3, I figured it out. I went to Autozone and they told me 10W-30, I started laughing then the guy realized that he looked up engine oil, but for a minuted he insisted it was 10W-30. Thank god I know what I am talking about or I would have a really f**cked up trans right now.

yeah I go to the dealer first because the people at auto zone are a far cry from rocket scientist. My friend was changing the 3rd brake light on an old eclipse on time and the guy at autozone insisted he take the light off. 5 minutes later we had a stripped screw and still a burned out brake light.

Actually it depends on the year, the early years I believe do use 10W30 motor oil in the manual transmission. The newer and current manuals use ATF.
