O.K. my car gets up to 2-2.3k rpm then quits accelerating and the engine makes a knocking noise...i really need to know what to do because i can't afford to take it in right now...btw the fuel pump seems to be working fine...

 

will it rev up past that in park?

 

no it completely stops reving at 2k no matter if its in drive or park.... its supposed to stop around 4k in park i think....
