i was wanting to put an srt4 motor in my neon i was wanting to know if i have to change the wiring harning, i know i have to change the ecu, but i was reading the threads it said nothing about the wiring harness. and what all do i have to do to change it out?

 

you said in the other thread that you were tight on money. putting a srt motor in aint cheap.

 

i was going to do the same but i found out its way to much its about 5-6 thousand with everything you have to change like everything just some or the things

Heres about as "complete" a list as you'll find for the parts you'll need to swap over to an SRT-4 engine...

Engine and Tranny
Complete Engine Wiring Harness
Complete Engine Bay Wiring Harness
Power Steering Pump, lines, and cooler
Clutch master and slave cylinder
Clutch/Brake Pedal assembly
Intercooler Piping
Intercooler
Radiator Hoses
Tranny, Upper and Lower Motor Mounts (the holes are larger on the the upper and lower mounts for larger bolts and the tranny mount is completely different)
SRT PCM (wont' need the bracket with 03+)
Axles (and half shaft if it isn't on the engine)
Coolant Bottle
Fuel Line (from tank to engine bay)
Fuel Pump
Flex Fuel Line (from solid fuel line to fuel rail)
Short evap hose that comes from the purge valve
All vacuum lines and the 3 selonids
o2 Sensors
Turbo Housing + O2 Housing
Lower Control Arms (they're stronger yet the same in shape)
Sentry Key Module + Key that matches the PCM VIN number.
Radiator


Some options parts would include:

SRT Power steering rack (it's shorter)
Knuckles
Flexiable Brake Lines
Calipers

well good luck but its a pain swaping

 

03 to 05 neons use the same harness as the srt4 and will not need to have be swapped. 02 and later neons will need to have the harness swapped.

can i use my 02 neon r/t tranny with my 05 srt4 motor? also when i change over the 04ecu and the engine 04wiring harness will i have to change the one under the dash and all the lights to match an 04?
