Default 2001 es, 140k, should i buy?

I'm looking to buy my kid brother a used car. I found a dodge neon es, 140k miles. guy is selling ot me for 2600. I have a few questions that I would like to ask, would greatly greatly appreciate anyone's opinions. if I bought this car, could he safely ride this car for another two years or so? also, is this a fair price for this car?

thats alot of miles lol....depends on how good he treated the car...write up a contract with him and see if u can get your money back if the car breaks in say..... 6 months? u should check out kbb.com and look in your area for a car with less miles for the same price... or u can also (on kbb.com) put in the miles and features the car has and then it will calculate how much the car is worth... and u can also find out if the car has been in any accidents

Get him down to around $2k or even lower...also, check to see if the timing belt and head gasket have been replaced or not.
