It cost more to make a plate than to just use the dohc head. Not to mention is makes less power.

its called a mattdog adapter good luck finding one.

you can swap heads, but then you have the whole compression thing whitch could be good if you go turbo tho.

A sohc head on a 2.4L block shoots the compression up pretty high for boosted use. Remember that the sohc engine have a 9.8:1 comp ratio, while the dohc head uses a 9.6:1 comp ratio. A sohc head on a block with dohc pistons yields a 10.3:1 comp ratio, so the 2.4L stoke combine with a sohc head would make the comp ratio in the high 11 to low 12. Hope you are ready for some tuning and custom pistons.

Again, it is cheaper to just use a dohc head.

for some reason i was thinking he had a 2.0 SOHC, so with a DOHC head on a SOHC blockcomp ratiowould go down

Yes. That is the setup I was running. A dohc head on a block with sohc pistons lowers the comp ratio to 9.2:1. The dohc engine setup should be 9.6:1. It seems safe to say that the pistons make the difference of .4 points of compression in any setup. Also why a sohc head with dohc pistons raises the comp ratio from 9.8:1 (sohc engine) to 10.2:1
