ive had my neon for 6 months now and about a month ago it started making a weird sound... like a loud muff sound when i hit the gas... and it feels like something is rubbing i feel it when car accelerated... like a muff rubbing sound coming from around the transmision,,,,, my car has 76000 miles any ideas? its an o3 neon se

 

I have the same problem. I took it to a transmission shop and they said it wasn't the transmission at all but I wasn't very sure. I haven't noticed any other problems though and no one else knows what it could be that I've talked to so I just turn up my music and ignore it :-P But yeah if anyone could figure out what this is I'd appreciate it as well
