hey, instead of spending over 300 bucks just in labor i decided i would jus buy the things and put them in myself for 50 bucks.
Could someone please tell me step by step how to take out and put in a new Non Fowler, and a Valve Cove Gasket. Im doing it in the morning tommarow so help is appreacated. thank you.

 

No problem helping you, but I have extensive experience with cars, especially neons, and I have never seen a "Non fowler" on my car. The valve cover gasket, I believe, is very simple, just remove the valve cover and scrape and clean all the old gasket off and wipe down the surfaces. Then put the new gasket down with a little RTV gasket maker on either side of the gasket, you don't need much, just a thin caoting. This will help with any imperfections in the cover and will prevent leaks. Tightten down all the bolts snugly and then cross torque them down to tight, in other words back left bolt, front right bolt, front left bolt, back left, 2nd from the left back, 2nd from the right front, and so on. I don't know the specific torque lbs, but just to thight and then maybe another 1/4 to 1/2 turn.
