most powerful engine in dodge neon 05
I have a 05 Dodge Neon SXT with everything stock, and after I get back from Iraq I want to toss a body kit on it, repaint it, switch out the stereo receiver and toss a 2x10 in the back and pretty much deck it out as much as possible, but I wanna know the most powerful engine I can fit into this car, because I want to switch from automatic to manual transmission, but I want it to be as fast as I can get it and its probably gonna be a turbo installed etc. I just wanna make this car as fast as I can.

i see u are from NC, u should not have a problem getting it to pass inspection down there... srt swap would be the way to go... building ur stock 2.0 will cost alot of money, and u will be in the 400whp range, where the srt engines are sometimes putting out in the 700whp range... 2.4 is the way u want to go, just have fun keepin tires on it, also a tranny will be needed, i would suggest a lsd tranny if u want to get that much power out of ur car
My truck has only 765 lb ft of torque so I have to wonder how it was able to pull a 13,000 lb trailer with a 3700 lb camper in the bed up to 11,000 feet on 8% grades with no issues whatsoever. What counts with a diesel pickup is how well integrated the automatic transmission and exhaust brake and trailer brake control module and grade control are and how well they work together. Raw torque is like evaluating an athlete based on how much they can bench press while in the gym.
