Default I got a problem

I was taking the molding of the side of my shale green neon today.. It went well and its all smooth.. However between the 2 strips of adhesive that held the molding on there is a strip that is lighter than the rest of the car? What is this, what can I do about it?

Lighter then the rest of your car? You sure. The part under the molding should be darker since the sun doesn't ever hit it. That is why I took mine off within 3 months of my car being new, you can't even tell they were ever there.

How do you go about taking them off in the first place? Is it just adhesive with paint underneath? My car is 95 and black so if I were to take mine off the black would be darker under those strips? And is it smooth underneath there or does the adhesive rip the (paint?) off. I really want to do this it looks really nice i think.

To take them off I used a peice of fishing line 40lbs test. Then I was able to peel of the remaining adhesive by hand, but i used a hair dryer to make it easier. I then used Goo Gone to finish it up nice. I also of course waxed the area. I heard that the older the car the harder it will be and more fade. From what i've herd the hazy line is because that area never completley dryed out, because of never being in sun light, so when water got back there it'd stay till absorbed. Practically I just need to let it in the sun for a while or use a hair dryer to dry the are good. Its not that big a deal so I am just gonna let it fade out, I don't have time to sit there for an hour drying it....
