Here is the problem. I just put an automatic transmission in my daughters 96 Neon. I went to connect the shift cable and found out that it will not shift into Park at least I think it is Park. The shift lever on the tranny not in the car will only move into five positions when there should be six, 1, 2, d, n, r, p. Or another way to say it is there is only four clicks when there should be five. I drove the donor car and it worked in all gears. After I removed it from the donor car I replaced all gaskets, seals, filter etc.. The tranny is dry. I can spin the half shafts with no problem when the shift lever is in the forward position. What is up?
