Helloo, i have a 2001 ext (just hit 210k!!) and am having a weird popping sound when i press the clutch just enough to engage. when it happens i can feel it on the pedal itself, like something in there is "popping". kinda freaked me out wondering if anyone has had a similar issue.

 

I'm actually having the same problem dude. I have a 2000 and I was told it was my clutch cable since my stock cable broke I had a universal cable put in and it's acting funnny. but I'm not totally convinced that it's that. when yours pops does it seem to be more firm or has less resistance?

This happens to me on my 05 too, usually in wet or cold weather. No idea what it could be, but it doesn't seem to have any ill effects other than being kind of annoying.
