My car was vibrating like crazy. I hooked it up to my friends scanner and it said cylinder 1 was misfiring. I pulled out the plug in the first cylinder and it was covered with oil. The second one had oil, on it, but not too much. The third, same deal. The 4th had nothing on it. Talked to my mechanic and he said that it is probably the valve cover gasket.

My question is this: Is changing the valve cover gasket hard? I usually do most of my own work, but I just want to make sure i'm not gonna get thrown any curveballs when I take the valve cover off. I read something about changing the pcv valve while im at it. Any advice? Should I diy or have my mechanic look at it?
