V6 Swap into an 00 + Neon
i know ive saw this topic in a thread on here before but i cant find it, but what i wanna know is, is it possible???? and if it is how many modifications are need to be mad for it to happen? Im talkin about the V6 found in the Stratus', i know i could probably find one of those cheaper than an SRT4 motor....and itll be almost just as quick.... thanks in advanced

Space is your first concern. Taken any measurements yet? Custom motor mounts are almost a certainty.
Choosing a tranny will be your second concern. What bolts up other than the factory piece?
Space for the tranny and engine together comes next.
Getting axles to go from your new tranny to the hubs is next.
Megasquirt should be able to control the fuel, air, and spark no problem.
Without a factory computer, you'll never pass an OBD-2 check (emissions test) again.
Ask your insurance carrier what the rates are on a "race-only" vehicle. Bring Kleenex.
So there's quite a bit to consider, as you can imagine. The fact that you are asking such a generalized question is pretty much proof that you are not capable of making it happen. But I could be wrong. You could be extremely handy with a TIG welder and chromoly tubes and a new front end would be a snap.
Best of luck!
haha im not planning on doing that, it would be a project, but i was asking for a friend because i saw a threadabout it on here before and he said he was interested...
If they're going through that much trouble, might as well swap in an engine that's worth the time. It would be tons easier to swap in an SRT-4 package than just the V6, and even easier to get more power with a built-up 2.0L or 2.4L and a good turbo system. I'm all for projects, even if they don't make sense... I do it all the time.
