Default timing belt

Just wondeing, ive got about 75k miles on my 2k neon. Think its about time to change the timing belt? or is that a bunch of crap when they say a timing belt is good for 60 - 90k miles. i know people who have had alot of cars for years with never replacing the timing belt... what do you guys think?

Well my last car I had went about 130,000 miles. Then when I was driving the belt came off and luckily didn't do any damage. You could probably go awhile longer but I would replace it before too long. If it breaks while driving it will likely do damage.

Dealer recommends 105k miles. I personally won't go over 85k-90k. Water pump and tensioner parts get replace as well.

Best of luck!
