Started the car today and drove maybe 5 miles and the oil light came on . It will stay off as long as im driving but once I stop the car at a stop light it will stay on unless I press on the gas. Not low on oil . I heard that it could just need an oil change and someone told me that neons like the mopar oil filter and that the car is really picky with oil and filters ( never heard of this before ) could this be a oil sending unit or something ? Hopefully its not the oil pump. Also where is the oil pump inside the oil pan ?

 

Does the light flicker or just stay on? Probably the oil sending unit dirty or faulty. Pull it, clean it up and see if it continues. The neon is not sensitive to oil or filters.
