05 Neon SXT 19mpg is all ???????
I bought it back in 2008 and 6 months ago had to drop 2600.00 to rebuild the trany. Even now the fuil milage is horable. I cant even go from Las Vegas to Las Angles on 1 tank of gas. Can i get some advice.
it all depends on how you drive. as the saying goes YMMV, or Your Mileage May Vary.
jackrabbit starts, excessive idling, hard acceleration, all devastate your mpg's. make sure your tires are properly inflated, your plugs are good, engine is in good tune, and brake sparingly. every time you hit that brake pedal, you are converting the energy from the gas and therefore your $$, into heat which then bleeds off in to the atmosphere. in other words, you want good mileage, drive like a granny. slow and steady wins the mileage race.
do a search for "hypermiling" some time.

Depends on the terrain too. Flat and straight is optimal obviously, but if you live up in the mountains like me, MPGs go down. I average around 25MPG where I live, but on the highways, I get into the mid to upper 30's.
