Have you also load tested the battery to make sure it is actually good as well?

For no other reason than it sounds like the wires are overdue on their change, I'd replace them. My car kept dieing when it was cold out and it was because the wires were too old. The resistance checked fine on them, but they were just done. Very common occurrence on any car, to have them die because of old plugs/wires.

Ok, I have had the same problem for three years now and changed the wires, coil and cam sensor. I recently had the hard start problem then drove to the gas station and shut the eng off, but left the lights on for about 5min. Not enough to kill it right?but it was dead. Put a jump "box" on it and viola!! It fired right off with no hard start and no rpm kill--while the box was hooked up. Disconnected the box and the prob reappeared. I decided to experiment with a known good battery and no more probs. Put the original factory battery back in and the problem resurfaced immediatley.

Long story short, have the battery tested. It might just that its not putting out enough voltage to run the electrical components. Let me know what you find.
