Dodge NeonThe sport compact car that took the world by storm. the Dodge Neon. Depending on the trim level you get, this sporty ride has something to offer everyone.
05 neon, 4 speed auto when in 3rd gear is there a way to adjust it so it stops dumping back into 2nd and first when slowing down? I want it to down shift only when back on the gas> thanks
If you put these cars in gear 3 it's sort of a sport mode they will keep the gears longer and if you slow down to say 35 it shifts into 2nd and stays there until 40 then shifts back to 3rd this sucks but it keeps it from goin into overdrive.i don't like driving it in od, revving it to say 20 to 60 and letting off the gas it shifts from first to 4th not good for trans you know what i'm saying right?

Not at all a "sport" mode. Most any automatic car with overdrive has a way to keep overdrive from engaging. On the Neon, it's 3rd gear. Downshifting an auto doesn't make it go to a sport-mode, lol. Not sure how you are "revving" your car from 20MPH to 60MPH and making it jump 3 gears, but OK.
I see a transmission failure in your future.

There is still a very large hydraulic part to the transmission. If you drive a Neon with a bad shift solenoid, you'll know what I'm taking about.
