New neon owner...
Hey folks...I just got a 2004 Neon SE for a paper delivery car...I am looking for a driver side mirror plate so I can remove the mirror and close the gaping hole up that it leaves...I will eventually take it off with a mailbox so I figured I would go ahead and take it off now and cause less damage...is there such a product floating around?
I crawled under the hood for the first time ever on a car and did a repair...I had to replace the cam shaft timing sensor...gotta frickin' disassemble half the car to get to the darn thing !!!
I also just replaced the plugs with the NGK V-Power plugs...I remembered the anti-seize but forgot the dielectric grease for the boots...I will get some next time I'm out...does it really make that much difference?
Brakes are next...I got the front pads and will start on it tomorrow...one question on the replacing the pads...I have seen where some say to open the brake fluid fill and others don't mention it...is this something that needs to be done when using the C-clamp to compress the piston? Is there a chance of the fluid pushing out when I compress the piston?
I know some of these might sound like dumb questions but let me assure you...what I know about cars would not fill a thimble...any and all advice is appreciated...

Probably a custom job coming up...maybe something like cutting the mirror off and then fiberglassing over the hole. By doing that, you'll still have the factory "base" so to speak and it'll bolt right back up.

I've never used it in the boots. Then again, moisture/humidity isn't a big concern where I live. If it is in your area, I suppose it wouldn't hurt to pull the plugs real quick and put some on.

Thanks for that...getting ready to walk out and tackle the front brakes...I also had the same thought on the custom mirror job...just hate to cut up the mirror...maybe I'll wait until I clip a mailbox first...LOL
