2004 Dodge Neon will not start or crank
I have a 2004 Dodge Neon that we have. Last Friday we drove it just fine and got it home about 30 minutes from our work. When we got it in the driveway to re-start to move it it would not start or crank. I took the starter off and had it tested at Advanced Auto and they said the started tested okay. So this Tuesday I put it back on and it would not do nothing. Wiggled some wires and low and behold it started. So let it sit overnight and got up Wednesday morning and it started just fine. Got to my work and left my work with no problems got home and shut it off. Thought let me check to see if would start again nothing. I have checked the starter relay and its fine. I am so clueless on this. I thought maybe a wire might be shorted out somewhere but have no clue. Any help or other ideas would be great.
First check all connections and clean them, any CEL lights? Could be an ignition problem. When the car does not start check for power at the little wire (not sure of the color) going to the starter for 12v while someone holds the key in the start position. If you get power and the car does not start replace starter. If no power trace the wire behind the ignition and test it there. Check back.
Where is located the starter relay?
What other part could be involved in this troubleshooting?
Thanks.
There are about 20 different things you can check because there are about 20 separate points of failure that any one (or more) of which will keep the car from firing. Bad sensors, bad connectors, bad wiring, bad grounds, bad battery, etc. etc. just to name a few.
