Anyone have experience with Hornet 570T remote starer?
I recently purchased a 2003 Neon and found this remote starter on craigslist for cheap. Does anyone have experience with installing it in a Neon. I'm not terribly worried about the difficulty of installation. Just wondering if it's even possible on the Neon.
Almost every automatic transmission car built today can be setup for remote starting. Most kits are simple to install if you have basic skills and a good wiring diagram for your car. I know nothing about that particular brand/kit however. I would google it and see if there are any reviews about it somewhere. My friend bought one for his 1995 Toyota Corolla off an ebay supplier, and he loves it. Uses it every single winter. He sets his defroster on to full heat and when he gets up, pushes the button, takes a shower, gets dressed, gets in the nice warm car and drives off.
You can even do it on a manual transmission car if you add in a clutch pedal bypass switch - aka - neutral bypass switch. THIS IS SERIOUSLY NOT RECOMMENDED!!!!!. It is one of those things where you CAN do it, and they sell the parts to do it, BUT if your car is started and it IS in gear.....whooo baby!
I would never, under any circumstances put one on my car (manual tranny). The biggest reason why is that it only takes ONE TIME forgetting to apply the e-brake and set the clutch to neutral before exitting the car to create a major catastrophe!!! ONE. I cannot afford a new car, much less buy someone else a new house, garage, business, and/or multiple replacment car(s).....
God forbid it actually drives over someone.......
