coolant problems.
My 2005 neon is using way to much coolant. I cant find any leaks and is not showing any coolant in the oil. I am going thru a gallon about every 2 weeks. The heater works fine. Looks like the trans. is starting to leak somewhere??? CAN SOMEONE HELP ME OUT HERE???????

Take your car to a place where they can analyze the exhaust gasses coming out of your muffler. it is possible you are burning it via small leaks in the head gasket allowing it to flow into the cylinder(s).
If the leak is not yet large enough to make it into the nearby oil passages, you won't find it in the oil yet. I just had this happen to my daughters 2004 Suzuki Forenza this past summer. It leaked into the cylinder #4 long enough that it finally made its way to the oil passages and when it did, that was the end of that - head job gasket replacement time. When I yanked it, I found that the head gasket had rusted out around the water passages and there was a network of tiny cracks (holding it up to the light) that showed its progression to the nearest oil passege where it caused systemic failure once it reached there. The other tiny rusted cracks led straight to the nearest cyl ring (#4) that allowed it to get into the very very clean #4 Cylinder where it was burning it.
Now you could also have the problem I am still having with my 1995 Neon. I have small enough leaks that I cannot yet find where they are - and I have put dye into it 3 times. No, it is not burning it as I have had it checked. I find tiny puddles after it sits and cools down (nowhere near where the overflow tank and/or AC drain BTW). I think it is seeping out from one of the heater bypass hoses, but it is difficult to tell. I only lose about 1 quart a week right now.
