Help please! Strange power surges
Hi, so I've been having issues with my Dodge SX 2.0 for about a month or so now. I only bought it in June, it had only 80,000 km on it and previously it had been driven my a little old man who sold it back to the dealership...so it shouldn't have any issues.
However it started doing this freaky thing where all of a sudden it's like the power surges. My music cuts out and everything on my dashboard goes crazy (lights on and off, gages flickering up and down) and sometimes my headlights even flicker on and off. It seems to do it more in the rain/super cold, but it still does it any weather...it's yet to die but I'm still freaked out and haven't found anything online regarding it. I've also had a mechanic friend take a look and he can't see anything wrong at all.
So basically I'm just wondering if anyone else has experienced anything like this or has any idea before I take it in to a shop.

Sounds like either an intermittent problem with your alternator (the regulator is in the PCM on Neons and rarely go bad) or a grounding problem. The alternator can be checked at almost any parts place with a machine they have to load test one.
What year? Do you live in a high salt area and have lots of rust/corrosion issues? check all the main grounding straps on the car for rust out and/or corrosion.
