The stock radio in the neon didn't work when I got it, so I put a cdplayer in today. Everything worked fine, then it just stopped playing. The stereo was workin fine, but the speakers weren't playing. Just wonderin if anyone else had this problem before, or suggestions other than running new wires to the speakers.

 

Happened to me today for the first time too! I dunno. I was listening to a CD and all the sudden the speakers stopped playing. I fixed it by turning off the radio and turning it back on... has worked fine since...[8D]

 

When I had a stock audio system in my car nothing happened to me. Everything was fine.

 

My mom's Chrylser New Yorker has notoriously loose harness wires in the stereo. It could just be some loose wires. Chances are that's what it is. If not, then you could have actually burned the wires which would render them useless. Triple-check your wiring. Use a voltmeter to measure voltages to make sure power is getting to the speakers directly at the main harness.

 

i figured it out today, It was the pass. door speaker, that had a short in the wires betweent he chassis and the door. Thanks for the responses guys!
