Default Leaking Rain Water Internally?

I've had an intermittent problem now for about 6 months, I've only just now realized what it was.

It seems that only after a heavy rain (or lots of snow/sleet melting) that when I first take off in the morning, my first few turns (that change the gravitational position of the car), water leaks into my car, on the passenger side just underneath the glove box. From what I can see, there are no holes or anything that would allow water to come in.

When this happens, it makes a sound similar to that of water boiling over. It appears to be water, not coolant. I'm 90% sure it only happens AFTER a good rain, so it probably isn't my heater core (from what I've established.)

Does anyone know how the rain water is drained from the hood? Does it sound like this may be backed up and is overflowing?

Thanks!
