I have a 2000 crysler neon and when i shift gears(5 speed manual) and put my foot down on the gas i can hear the motor over rev abd it seems like it takes a second or two for the car to catch up?Almost like its struggling or fighting.Anyone know what this could be or what i should check?

 

I don't know alot about these neons but I'd check the basics first. Maybe clean the mass airflow sensor on it could help. I think it's about $5 for a can of the cleaner for it and it takes all of 5 minutes to take it out clean and put it back.
