I just baught this car.i drove it this morning and it was fine.my wife got in tonight started it put it in reverse and it died .now it wont start.turn the key and evrything comes on but wont crank?????????im at work anyideas i can try when i get home

 

It might be the computer. The keys have a chip in them for anti-theft purposes and if the computer or keys chip is messed up, it will disable the car. Have you tried your other key? No matter what it is, it's covered by the warranty, so let them give you a free rental car and let them worry about it.[sm=smiley20.gif]

 

If it's a manual, make sure the clutch pedal is ALL the way to the floor...[sm=smiley5.gif]

 

it was the key she had one made at hardware store no chip in it.hahha
to bad she already cussed out the dealer.oh well they made enough$$$ off of it to take a little heat

As I thought, it was the key. Most any newer car that has a thick plastic or rubber like cover on it like that has a chip in it and is the same way. A copy without the chip will start the car, but as soon as you try to take off it will disable the vehicle. It sucks, but it's great at the same time. At least you know that a common criminal cannot steal your car by hot wiring it.[sm=smiley20.gif][sm=smiley2.gif]
