Default running rough

i just bought a 2005 dodge neon 2.0L. i got it for 500 dollars so i got a great deal so i bought it. it runs rough not extremely bad but you can dee the steering wheel shake. i have changed the spark plug and wires. replaced the air filter. it does it little more when at a stop light or sign. when you put it in park or out of gear it quites quite a bit. i noticed last night ran rougher when i rolled up the window with it in park. heck engine light comes on but it was for the gas cap. i bought a new one and put it on. please help.

Are you sure you aren't driving our car, we are having almost identical problems. One thing that I did find that helped tremendously was replacing all of those 90* rubber elbows in the vacuum lines. It helped a lot but hasn't stopped the rough idle. I am going to see if a Dodge coil pack will help, the previous owner put a no name coil pack in it.

There is one line that runs off the back of the valve cover, and the drivers side of the valve cover, and there is a big one that runs off of the throttle body.

could the transmission mount be bad and make it shake? took it to a dealer and they said it dont run rough for them but i noticed it goes from 800 rpm to about 500rpm when at a light or stop sign. its getting frustrating.

My 2000 vibrates a lot at the light or stop sign. I replaced the upper and lower struts, engine mount, and trans mount. But I got the cheap stuff online and the rubber is super hard. (dea and anchor brand). The upper and lower struts can be checked pretty easy for cracks. The trans. mount requires that you remove the battery tray and air cleaner box to get to. Finally the right engine mount is a bear to get to. If you look under the wheel well and remove the plastic cover you will see a torqx tip 55. That goes through the engine mount and holds that part of the engine. It's about 3/4 of the same job as replacing the timing belt.

It does, but I can feel the idle drop than pick back up, also if I put in neutral or park it doesn't become such an issue. We've had the car since this spring and I've bent valves on a car and it died that day.
